Head of Vocational Training HRM, Universitätsspital Zürich

The working groups grow into a team in just one day. The apprentices are well looked after, and even in bad weather there is shelter and a warm fire at lunchtime. I find our work “right on our doorstep” very valuable.

We really enjoyed the two-day work assignment in Sihlwald. The structured organization of the day ensured a good balance of activity and relaxation, and the inputs were very stimulating and informative.

past missions

Filtern Sie nach:

AXA helps the midwife toad with bricks and piles of branches

26 AXA Switzerland employees lent a hand: They collected freshly mown hay by hand from a meadow orchard on Taggenberg to promote biodiversity. In Maienried, they built brick structures as hibernation sites for the rare midwife toad, extended branch piles as shelters and cleared vegetation from ponds. 🐸

New color for the Sihlwald

Colorful diversity in the Sihlwald! 🌿 Eight school classes from Muri have created new habitats for butterflies and orchids with a lot of team spirit. They even discovered the rare door snail - a complete success for nature! 🌸🦋

Fight against the invasive lucky palm

Together for nature! 🌿 20 motivated helpers from the Hotel Eden Roc freed Tegna from the invasive lucky palm. A feat of strength for the forest, which visibly recovered - a nature experience with visible success and a well-deserved conclusion! 🌱🌴

Braving the cold for more biodiversity

At Schneeregen☔️❄️, the blackberries are getting the chop. Instead, the forest gets new inhabitants in the form of native shrubs/trees. With clinking teeth and wet feet, Microsoft employees face the weather and create a natural oasis right next to the Zurich Airport runway.🛫

With saw and pruning shears to the Wiesel Villa

In the mixed September weather, a class from Reinach BL cuts its way through the willow islands in the Robenhauserried. Drop by drop 💦 of sweat, the bog is saved from becoming overgrown for a week. Fortified with mushroom nuggets, the young architects create new habitats for weasels and co.🐹🐇

Neophytes - friend or foe?

The summer starts in the Thurauen, an area full of dynamism. This is not just a paradise for the native flora and fauna, because the neophytes like it too. With the right team spirit, however, they are quickly removed and used directly to make an anti-inflammatory ointment.✨

more light for biodiversity

Today, it is not the goats🐐 and cattle🐃 that are protecting our forests from the darkness, but employees of Schröder Investments. Strengthened after a meal by the cozy fire, the ice axes are swung again. Cohesion and joy make a great result possible, which brings satisfaction for people and nature. 👥🍀

A snake for biodiversity 🐍

Loaded with 600 roof tiles, we set off for the Looren school in Maur. There, a motivated class created a biodiversity hotspot in the form of a brick snake. Bricks were laid, 22 tons of gravel were shoveled and the figure was planted with wild perennials and grasses. 🪨 The snake now offers a home to reptiles and wild bees - a project full of commitment and success! 🌿

Butterflies, orchids and co.

A week full of action in the name of nature: new habitats are created by combating invasive species. The children experience the fruits of their labor on the excursion through the light forest in the Thurauen.🌳 A living highlight is the checkerboard butterfly.🦋

🌳 Together for more resilient forests 🌱 with SAP

Seven SAP employees planted 110 deciduous trees to strengthen the wind resistance of a wooded area. 🪵 With spades and a lot of effort, holes were dug, seedlings planted and food protectors installed. Accompanied by insights into the consequences of the bark beetle, the campaign helped to create a more resilient mixed forest and greater diversity in the ecosystem. 🌿

action-packed week in the Lägeren Forest with USZ apprentices

Supported by the Altberg-Lägern forestry company, the students from Zurich University Hospital fought against the invasive cherry laurel. 🌱 They removed the plants, learned about the spread of invasive species through games 🎲 and observed impressive felling work. 🪓 With knowledge, team spirit and full commitment, they made a valuable contribution to protecting the forest.
