3. General Principles
3.1 What data do we collect from you and from whom do we receive this data?
We primarily process personal data that you provide to us or that we collect while operating our website. In some cases, we may also receive personal data about you from third parties. This can include the following categories:
-
Personal data (name, address, birth date, etc.)
-
Contact details (mobile number, email address, etc.)
-
Financial data (e.g., account details)
-
Online identifiers (e.g., cookie ID, IP addresses)
-
Location and traffic data
-
Audio and visual recordings
-
Particularly sensitive data (e.g., biometric data or health-related information)
3.2 Under what conditions do we process your data?
We treat your data confidentially and process it in accordance with the purposes outlined in this privacy policy. We ensure transparent and proportionate processing.
If, in exceptional cases, we are unable to comply with these principles, data processing may still be lawful if there is a legal basis for justification. Possible legal bases include:
-
Your consent
-
The performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures
-
Our legitimate interests, provided they do not outweigh your interests
3.3 How can you revoke your consent?
If you have given us consent to process your personal data for specific purposes, we process your data within the scope of this consent unless we have another legal basis.
You may revoke your consent at any time by sending an email to the address listed in the legal notice. Past data processing activities remain unaffected by the revocation.
3.4 In which cases may we disclose your data to third parties?
a. General principle
We may need to use third-party services or affiliated companies and entrust them with processing your data (so-called data processors). Categories of recipients include:
-
Accounting, fiduciary, and auditing firms
-
Consulting firms (legal, tax, etc.)
-
IT service providers (web hosting, support, cloud services, web design, etc.)
-
Payment service providers
-
Providers of tracking, conversion, and advertising services
We ensure that these third parties and affiliated companies comply with data protection requirements and handle your personal data confidentially.
Additionally, we may be legally required to disclose your personal data to authorities.
b. Visiting our social media channels
Our website may contain links to our social media channels, which are identifiable by their respective icons. Clicking on these icons redirects you to our social media pages.
In this case, social media providers will be informed that you accessed their platform from our website. These providers may use the collected data for their own purposes. Please note that we have no knowledge of the content of the transmitted data or how the operators use it.
c. Transfer of data abroad
In some cases, personal data may be transferred to companies abroad as part of processing agreements. These companies are obligated to comply with the same data protection requirements as we do. Transfers may occur worldwide.
If the level of data protection does not correspond to that of Switzerland, we conduct a prior risk assessment and ensure contractually that the same level of protection is guaranteed as in Switzerland (e.g., using the EU Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or other legally mandated measures). If our risk assessment is negative, we take additional technical measures to protect your data. You can access the EU Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses here: EU SCCs.
3.5 How long do we retain your data?
We store personal data only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected.
When you register via our contact forms, your personal data is collected and processed for the purpose of registration and handling your request. If you consent to storage, your data will be retained for ten years to contact you about similar events or assignments. By giving your consent, you agree that project managers, marketing departments, or other administrative staff at Naturnetz may contact you at a later date. We also store analytics and tracking data for an extended period.
We retain contract data for longer periods as required by law. In particular, we must keep business communications, closed contracts, and booking records for up to 10 years. Once we no longer need such data for service delivery, it is restricted and only used for accounting and tax purposes.
3.6 How do we protect your data?
We store your data securely and take all reasonable measures to protect it from loss, access, misuse, or alteration.
Our contractors and employees who have access to your data are obligated to comply with data protection regulations. In some cases, we may need to forward your inquiries to affiliated companies. Even in such cases, your data will be treated confidentially.
Our website uses SSL encryption (Secure Socket Layer) with the highest encryption level supported by your browser.
3.7 What are your rights?
a. Right to information
You can request information about the data we have stored about you at any time. Please send your request along with proof of identity to info@naturnetz.ch.
Additionally, you have the right to receive your data in a common file format if we process it automatically and:
-
You have given consent for this processing, or
-
You provided the data in connection with the conclusion or execution of a contract.
We may restrict or deny information requests if legal obligations or third-party interests conflict with them.
Processing your request is subject to the statutory deadline of 30 days. However, we may extend this period due to high request volumes, legal or technical reasons, or the need for further information from you. You will be informed of any extension in writing.
b. Deletion and correction
You may request the deletion or correction of your data at any time. We may reject your request if legal requirements mandate longer retention or if a justification exists.
Please note that exercising your rights may conflict with contractual agreements and impact contract execution (e.g., early contract termination or cost implications).
c. Legal recourse
If you are affected by personal data processing, you have the right to seek legal enforcement or file a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. The relevant authority in Switzerland is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC): EDÖB.
3.8 Changes to the Privacy Policy
We may change this privacy policy at any time. Changes will be published on our website, and you will not be individually notified.
