Lots going on without money!

A wonderful, sunny morning. Today and tomorrow, the six apprentices at RIZ AG can forget about their normal apprenticeship routine and really let off steam outside.

However, it soon becomes clear when the six trainees plunge into the blackberry field: Nature conservation is no picnic! It may already be October, but you never get cold doing this work. In the sun on the slope you immediately feel like you're on summer vacation on the Mediterranean. Only this time it's not the pine needles that prick you, but the blackberries. After a successful day, the group returns to the accommodation and we head off for our well-earned evening break.

Friday morning and today a completely different wind is blowing: rain is forecast and we soon feel it. Nevertheless, we fight our way through a south-facing slope and clear it of moss and woody plants in order to create a new habitat for rare snail species such as the bulbous grain snail.

After a somewhat wet finish, the RIZ AG apprentices left us for lunch. We were able to successfully clear the meadows of the rampant blackberries and create a habitat for the rare snails. The six young and motivated apprentices also benefited, gaining an insight into practical nature conservation work and sharing a fascinating nature experience together.
